PSEA was involved in several
Fundraising events over the holiday season. The
following is an excerpt from Alaska Family Services:
This
holiday season we had the pleasure of working with Rob Cox,
President
of the Public Safety Employees Association, as well as the
following Alaska State Troopers: Trooper Baker, Sgt.
Shuey, Deputy Commander Hahn, Officer Harrington, and
Trooper Nunley. They made arrangements to pick up
several young people, who have been victims of domestic
violence, and took them out for a Christmas shopping spree.
The officers helped them purchase gifts for their families
and even wrapped the gifts for them. Later the young
people were surprised with the gifts that the officers had
purchased for them to enjoy.
and then....
AFS received the following message
from Rob Cox, PSEA President, along with some wonderful
photographs taken that day:
Thank you
for the opportunity to be of service to some families in the
Valley. The Public Safety Employees Association (PSEA)
members (Troopers) who participated, thoroughly enjoyed the
experience and were impressed with the children they served.
Each child demonstrated that they were more interested in
making each other happy than with what they may get
themselves. This made the experience that much more
memorable. Please relay our regards to the families
and our hope that their Christmas experience was full of
joy. Thanks again for making this a great experience
for all!
