During the October PSEA Corporate Board meeting the board
approved the expenditure to implement a secure e-mail system
for PSEA members. This system is now functional and resides
on PSEA’s server located at the PSEA office – it is
completely ours! This is an effort to provide improved and
secure communication between Chapter Boards, the Health
Trust, the Corporate Board, and our members. This will
eliminate the need to communicate PSEA business/information
via the State of Alaska e-mail system. Regular
communications and updates will be sent to each member via
this system. Communications and updates will include Board
Meeting minutes, Committee minutes, Newsletters, Legislative
action updates, member surveys, articles of interest,
Contract and Letter of Agreement negotiation dispositions,
arbitration results, political action links, etc. We are
currently exploring ways to effectively provide electronic
voting for Union elections.
It is
our hope that you will use this system often to keep
yourself abreast of the latest happenings and to communicate
your needs, concerns and ideas to your Union leaders and to
each other. Your e-mail account may be accessed via the web
through the PSEA website from any location with World Wide
Web access; or, by configuring your e-mail client software
to check this account automatically. Most client software
will walk you through this process when you select Add a New
Account.
The
cost of set up (one-time expense) and first year’s
maintenance of this system is estimated to cost slightly
less than our annual cost of publishing and sending the
Newsletter. The annual maintenance will be a small fraction
of past annual Newsletter expenses. Newsletters will no
longer be sent through the mail but will be available online
by e-mail and website. You will be receiving an
informational mailer in the near future directing you to
this page for instructions on changing your account
password. The mailer will notify you of your e-mail address,
user name, and default password. Please see the instructions
below and fully enjoy this system.

To Access

Click on the
E-MAIL link under the
More Information box located in the top right
hand corner of this page.
Enter your username and password.
Please change your password as soon as possible.

To E-mail another
PSEA Member:

Click New E-Mail Button.

When the new e-mail page is displayed, click on the
To: button. This will bring you to a search page.

In the Display Name field, type in member’s name
and hit Enter. You can search by full name, or by first
name.

Highlight correct name in bottom half of screen.

Click on the To button on bottom of screen. This
will insert the member’s name in your new e-mail.
