SEA DUTY ARBITRATION UPDATE
(June 28, 2005)
Sea Duty Arbitor's Award
In another prime example of “babysplitting,” Arbitrator
Angelo ruled that the State did not incorrectly apply
the contract language for sea duty pay after their
initial mistakes of last summer, but that the State’s
demand for reimbursement of the overpayment should not
be allowed to stand if a showing of “hardship” can be
made.
The decision is attached in printable/readable form for
your review. Please contact Jim Gasper via e-mail at
jag@psea.net if you did not receive an e-mail
regarding this award.
