About Business Travel Accident Insurance

The chart below provides highlights of the business travel accident insurance benefit for the Trooper Chapter, Airport Police and Fire Officers Chapter, Fairbanks Police Department, and Juneau Police Department members, as of July 1, 2005. Refer to your Benefit Booklet for details, general limitations and exclusions.

   Business Travel Accident Insurance

How the plan works

A benefit is paid if you have a covered accident while traveling on business and the accident results in death or dismemberment within one year. Payment for loss of life is made to your designated beneficiary. Payment for any other loss is made to you.

Eligibility

  • Under age 70 and eligible for benefits under the PSEA Health and Welfare Trust (see "Starting Out in the Program" in your Benefit Booklet).
  • Trustees and employees of the PSEA if under age 70

Note: No coverage is provided if you are age 70 or older, and no dependents are covered regardless of age

Full Benefit Amount

$100,000

Death Benefit

100% of full benefit amount for accidental death while traveling on business

Benefits for other covered losses

100% of full benefit amount for accidental loss of both hands; both feet; or sight in both eyes; or any combination of these

50% of full benefit amount for accidental loss of one hand; one foot; or sight in one eye

25% of full benefit amount for accidental loss of thumb and index finger on the same hand

Beneficiary

You may designate a beneficiary in writing and file it with the PSEA Health & Welfare Trust
