About the Death Benefit

The chart below provides highlights of the death benefit for the Trooper Chapter, Airport Police and Fire Officers Chapter, Fairbanks Police Department, and Juneau Police Department members, as of July 1, 2005. Refer to your Benefit Booklet for details, general limitations and exclusions.

How the plan works

The PSEA Health & Welfare Trust provides a death benefit for you at no cost to help protect your family from the financial burden that death could bring if you die for any reason while covered by the plan

Eligibility

  • Under age 70 and eligible for benefits under the PSEA Health and Welfare Trust (see "Starting Out in the Program" in your Benefit Booklet).
  • Trustees and employees of the PSEA if under age 70

Note: No coverage is provided if you are age 70 or older, and no dependents are covered regardless of age

Coverage

If you die while covered by this plan, your beneficiary will receive $10,000

Beneficiary

You may designate a beneficiary in writing and file it with the PSEA Health & Welfare Trust
