PSEA Supports our 9-1-1 Dispatchers

The Public Safety Emergency Association (PSEA) supports  the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) in their campaign to redefine the federal classification of 9-1-1 dispatchers.

For years, APCO has been advocating for the reclassification of 9-1-1 professionals from Office and Administrative Support Occupations to Protective Service Occupations, emphasizing the critical and lifesaving nature of their work. With the reintroduction of the 9-1-1 SAVES Act (H.R. 6319) in the House, there's a growing push for this much-needed change.

PSEA is urging its members and others in the community to get involved in this grassroots advocacy effort. By utilizing APCO’s advocacy portal, individuals can directly participate in this cause by sending letters to U.S. Representatives, urging them to co-sponsor the 9-1-1 SAVES Act, a vital step in ensuring the bill's progression through the House. This collective action is a crucial part of APCO's strategy to gain the necessary legislative support for this significant reclassification.
